Lazarus Ministry

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? -Micah 6:8

Lazarus Ministry

Lazarus Counselors share Christ's love and mercy with residents in the City of Alexandria in crisis situations by addressing the immediate needs of the individuals seeking assistance. Neighbors come to our doors each week seeking help coping with financial, health, and family crisis. Lazarus volunteers live out their call as disciples by opening doors to all who wish to enter.

Giving Back

  • We recently had a guest come into the Lazarus Ministry who has received help infrequently over the years. She was seeking financial assistance and came in two months in a row for help with her rent. She assured us that when the settlement from her mother’s house was finalized, she would no longer need our assistance. Several weeks later we received a letter in the mail. It explained how grateful she was for our assistance and that the probate process for her mother’s house had finalized. She included a check in the letter that was a donation to the Lazarus Ministry in thanks for the ways we helped her in her time of need.
