An Evening of Centering Prayer

Posted by Meredith, November 3, 2016

On November 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the historic Church, we welcome Mary Dwyer, one of the early founders of the Centering Prayer movement, to teach us the basics of Centering Prayer. Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer. What is contemplative prayer? Anne Landry Art Fete and Benefit

Posted by Meredith, October 5, 2016

Join us for the Anne Landry Art Fete and Benefit on October 29! Whimsical or religious, and sometimes both, the art of long-time Christ Church parishioner Anne Landry has delighted and intrigued patrons of the Torpedo Factory for years. Her singular vision is evident in each unique work, often inspired by scriptural passages but unlike any religious artwork you have ever seen. Her vibrant use of color evokes emotion and meaning in a highly personal manner. In an act of unexpected generosity, Ms. Landry has donated a significant portion of her portfolio to Christ Church with the hope that any sale would benefit the Church's mission and that her special and inimitable art would somehow be made available to art lovers.
