Share Your Light

Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Light is a powerful metaphor in our Scriptures. It represents wisdom and learning as well as safety and comfort. And throughout our Bible, light is something that is supposed to be given freely to help and uplift others. Jesus tells us in Matthew that we are the light that should be shared, that we should—without fear or shame—share the light of Christ, that is, the wisdom and comfort that comes with our knowledge and faith in Jesus. Our stewardship theme this year is based in this directive from Matthew. Pledging to the work of our parish is one way that you can share the light in this world that sometimes seems to dark.  Christ Church has been a light on the lampstand for nearly 250 years. In addition to our time and our skills, it takes financial generosity from every one of us to keep the light on the lampstand lit for all the world to see. Share the light by making a pledge to support the mission of our beloved parish.
