Christ Church Foundation

The Christ Church Foundation

The Christ Church Foundation embodies the continuing legacy of the faith and gifts of generations of parishioners.  We enjoy this church because of the generosity of those who came before us.  Our privilege is to give to those who will follow.

Give Today

Make your gift payable to Christ Church, with Christ Church Foundation in the memo line, and mail to Christ Church Foundation, 118 North Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.  Your gift can be made in memory of, in honor of, or in thanksgiving for a person(s) or event.

Give Through Your Estate

The legal designation for all gifts to the Christ Church Foundation is: Christ Church Alexandria, Virginia Foundation.

You are advised to consult with an attorney and/or financial advisor when considering a gift through your estate.  To find an advisor, you may wish to consult your local chapter of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.

Contributions to the Christ Church Foundation qualify for charitable or estate tax gift deductions to the extent allowed by law.

The Foundation trustees welcome the opportunity to discuss your interests or to suggest specific gift options to share with your advisors.  All matters discussed will be held in strict confidence. Email the Christ Church Foundation to receive a planned gift commitment form, request a meeting with a trustee at your convenience, or receive a copy of the Foundation brochure.

The Christ Church Foundation Society (CCFS) recognizes with appreciation those who have made gifts of $500 or more.  The Christ Church Foundation Legacy Circle honors those who have provided for the Foundation through their wills or other planned gifts, and/or have given $10,000 or more.  Commitments and gifts may be kept anonymous upon the wish of the donor.

Your gift to the Christ Church Foundation – now and in the years to come – will recognize and thank those who have preceded us, and witness to the significance of Christ Church in your life to those who will come after us.  Let us join together to ensure Christ Church’s lasting ministry.

Through prayerful and careful planning, you can do far more for Christ Church than you ever thought possible. By making a gift to the Christ Church Foundation, you have the opportunity to continue your support for Christ Church in perpetuity.

The Christ Church Foundation was founded in 1979 by the vestry of the Church at the request of the congregation and is administered by the trustees elected by the vestry. Its charter directs the Foundation to:

  • restore, support, benefit, care for and maintain the buildings and grounds of Christ Church.
  • support and benefit the Christian mission of Christ Church outside its parish.
  • assure the faithful execution of the specific terms of gifts made to the church.

Under the trustees’ prudent management, the Foundation’s funds are invested to provide an annual stream of income to the church for those purposes. Contributions to the Christ Church Foundation qualify for charitable or estate tax gift deductions to the extent allowed by law.
