"Go to the festival yourselves. I am not going to this festival, for my time has not yet fully come." After saying this, he remained in Galilee. But after his brothers had gone to the festival, then he also went, not publicly but as it were in secret. The Jews were looking for him at the festival and saying, ‘Where is he?’ John 7: 8-11

At Christ Church we are in the period between our bountiful Thanksgiving dinner giveaway and our Christ Child Ministry this Saturday, where 203 children will receive gifts selected by their parents for Christmas. There are abundant spirits and generous hearts at Christ Church. Most of the people who give donations, whether it is Lazarus Food Pantry, Thanksgiving, Christ Child, or Lazarus Emergency Financial Ministry, don’t get to experience the deep appreciation first hand. You drop off gifts, send in checks, and more of you are using Amazon Prime, but we could not do these ministries without you. In a way, you are loving your neighbors in secret when it comes to your gifts. In my work I get to see many people who come to us in need that leave our grounds a little happier, lighter, and knowing they are cared about. turkey-melanie-12.8.16.jpgFor me and the volunteers that do the front line work with neighbors in our community, we are the bridge between your gifts and the recipients. I would love to absorb all the love and gratitude that is expressed and send it right back to you so you could experience it for yourselves. Please know for all of you who give in secret, many are raised up.

Peace and advent blessings,
