Disciples of Christ in Community
What Is
DOCC?
Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) is a
congregational-based Christian formation program for adults that builds
community while encouraging individual spiritual growth. Nationally, more
than 25,000 people have completed this program administered by Washington
National Cathedral.
DOCC consists of 12 sessions, each made up of two parts.
The first part is a presentation led by either clergy members or
theologically trained lay persons. The second part is an hour-long
discussion in response to the presentation held in small groups led by
members of the congregation trained to facilitate the discussions.
Individuals are assigned to a small group the first week we meet and stay
with the same small group throughout the course. There is also a mandatory
one-day retreat.
